Joanne Thorne Arnold presents a glimpse into the natural beauty of the Southern Tier and of the Hudson River Valley. Joanne says, “I’ve spent the past year practicing the art of Plein Air producing small pieces from life and learning how to apply paint in a heavier fashion. I aim to create complex color and depth through familiar landscapes.” Eileen Seeley Schlag’s paintings are created using layers of oil paint and cold with some thick and some thin veils of color. Scratching or dissolving creates texture and reveals contrasting colors. She is also featuring pottery by her husband Rick.
