POTLUCK (5:00) & FILM (6:00) AT THE COOPERATIVE GALLERY 213 Sunday, Aug 17 Banksy Most Wanted - 2020 - 82 minutes Banksy is a household name, but behind this name hides a multitude of stories, artworks, stunts, political statements and identities, leading to one of the art world's biggest unanswered questions- who is Banksy?

Banksy is an anonymous British street artist, activist & film director, who uses satire and dark humor to address political, environmental, and socio-political issues. His work appears on streets, walls & bridges throughout the world, is characterized by stencils, multi-layered colors, and the incorporation of permanent fixtures like street signs.  It grew out of the Bristol underground scene which involved collaborations between artists and musicians.  He first gained recognition in the late 1990s and has since become one of the world's most influential and respected street artists.

This intriguing documentary draws an in-depth portrait & reveals fundamental facets of this elusive artist: his political views; commitment to environmental causes & political refugees; his links with the music scene & his entrepreneurial side. It attempts to reveal his identity but also raises the question: do we need to know the artist behind the name to appreciate the artwork?
