Everyone seeks the anticipation of experiences that bring joy. Often, these moments evolve into cherished memories that shape our lives. These joyful moments serve as reminders of life's beauty and the importance of stepping away from the rush of everyday life.
My acrylic paintings serve as an exploration of this joy, with elephants as my primary subject. My love for elephants began in childhood, when I would see the same elephant year after year at a local circus. That early encounter left a lasting impression—the elephant felt both enormous and gentle, mysterious yet familiar. Over time, elephants came to symbolize tenderness, resilience, and wisdom for me that reflect the emotional themes in my work. They are a reminder to slow down, stay connected, and find meaning in shared experiences.
Each composition incorporates elements of writing and drawing, representing an inner dialogue conveyed through the process. I often deconstruct sentences into individual letters, rotating and flipping them in a manner reminiscent of a child’s playful writing. This technique adds a rich visual texture that permeates much of my work, while also echoing the spontaneity and curiosity that elephants—and children—naturally embody.
