American Artist
B-1954

Richard Henry began his formal art education at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh under the watchful eye of American Master Harold F. Edmonds. After completing the program he went on to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (BFA) from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1979.

Richard joined IBM as a graphic Designer in 1985. He has worked as a corporate designer for the past 18 years, and is currently a Staff Designer and Creative Director at Lockheed Martin's Owego, New York, facility.

He has won numerous awards as a graphic designer and has produced illustrations that span the world. Working as a professional designer has afforded him the ability to spend time doing what he really enjoys the most, producing fine art.

Richard has a studio in Endicott, New York, where he produces around 50 quality pieces each year. His subjects focus on landscapes and genre scenes. As a boy growing up on his grand fathers farm in Bradford county he explored the hills and valleys and has spent summer weekends canoeing on the Susquehanna River.
He likes to keep things simple, "if your not enjoying the experience, why do it" he says. His goal is eventually become a full time painter. Richard works with watercolor, acrylics, oil paints and graphite.

Hobbies include teaching painting and design to others, golfing, museum browsing and spending time with his two wonderful sons, Steven and Sean.

Richard continues to study fine art and is currently represented by four art galleries in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. For more information please call 1 (607) 754-0535.
